Cardio doesn't need to be the same boring ol' routine..

Friday & Saturday I managed to get in a cardio session & my SBM workout but not the 'rest of body' exercises.

After two long days (12 & 13 hrs) being a desk jockey I was feeling a lil stodgy & in need of a good 'blowout'

Step ups are 1 of my cardio options, easy & convenient, I wanted to alternate between heights so grabbed my step which is about 30 cms & a dining room chair.

Started out stepping up first with right leg for a count of 10 then switched to left, repeated 3 times each leg on step then did the same on the chair.

Next I added 1/2 kilo ankle weights & went thru the same sets as above, was breathing harder around the last rep of the left leg but found a second wind & thought "Cool, gonna grab some dumbells & go again!"

2 kilo dumbell in each hand & away I go, as you can guess my heart was ticking over & I definitely worked up a sweat but hey, if it feels good ;-)

Wavin' bye to that droopy butt..

Deciding that this year was going to be a total makeover for me was possibly the best move I've ever made.

If someone had told me I'd be feeling such a brilliant sense of renewal from the right exercise & proper eating habits I'm not sure I would have believed.

But that's me, born under Old Father Saturn & a bit of a skeptic.. have to try it for myself, which has turned out to be a bonus.

Take note of the word I used before exercise above, right is the key, after all you don't put a roof on a house 1st so building a foundation and working your way up from there is common sense.

Joey works his magic in doing just that with the SBM program.

Certainly the journey will be different for everyone, as there are so many factors to consider but if I can achieve what I have so far by only doing 1 rep of each exercise, I'm also sure others will not be disappointed with their progress.

How easy is it to get your recommended daily intake of veggies in 1 meal!

Experimenting with food is something so out of the ordinary for me, I would class myself as a barely adequate cook, very unimaginative in this area.

The specific menu outline that Joey gives for my SBM program is encouraging me to break out of the rut, use more herbs and spices
& eat different foods that I once wouldn't even try, which combine to tickle my taste buds.

I really enjoy sauteed veggies, this is how I prepared some for last night's dinner (serves 2)...

Heat pan with 1 tbl spn of olive oil, chop 1/2 small onion & 1 clove of garlic, add to pan & cook until soft

Chop 1/8 cabbage, 6 baby carrots (raw), 1 stalk celery, 4 cherry tomatoes, small red pepper, 1 zucchini and/or yellow squash

Stir on low heat, season with Italian herbs or whatever you like,
(I also add some sesame seeds & a few squeezes of lime juice) these are then served with steamed green beans, finish by drizzling
1 tbl spn of olive oil over the top

Go with the flow..

I've upped the tempo again this week & have seen an increase in my appetite, the cool part is that I automatically reach for nuts, fruit, a cheese stick or something from the 'secret seven' list.

Seeing visible results has definitely been a major motivator in not wanting to see my efforts trashed.

What price confidence..?

For me, the ability to wear strappy little tops & short shorts with the confidence that I look good can't have a price put on it.

Week after week I'm seeing subtle changes in the shape & tone of my body, it's because Joey's program has you building the foundation from week 1 with gradual increases.

So not only are you motivated to continue, you actually feel that you could handle more & start to experiment a little, adding here & mixing it up there.

I've given Joey a nickname 'Saint Joey' citing his miracles & also his patience as the reasons & if you happen to read the forum at the members site you will see why.

Strategy pays off

My abs and legs know they've been working today! I got my cardio workout done early then did the Flat, Sexy Stomach vids 1 & 2 and Sensual Shoulders 1 & 2, so got a good "ache" happening.

Gorgeous Autumn mornin' so jumped on the treadly (bike) for the trip to work, thighs & calves were putting in a protest but I developed a case of selective hearing.

Went shopping at lunchtime & bought a little black dress for the wedding, when I look in the mirror it is more than worth the effort.

Gotta give credit where it's due, the main reason that I'm feeling so full of life is directly due to Joey Atlas' SexyButtMakeover. Check out his site & see a new you... Click Here!

For me, the biggest difference between Joey & other trainers out there is that he delivers what he promises & actually makes it enjoyable!

Mid week 6

Seems the further I go with the program the easier it becomes to maintain & improve the shape I've achieved so far.

Focusing a little more on the legs & tummy this week, have added 1/2 kilo ankle weights & extra reps, time will tell :-)

You are what you eat..?

A comment from my hairdresser that my hair was in much better condition made me think more deeply about what exactly has changed to make a noticeable difference.

There are definitely a number of factors but perhaps most important is that since I've become a member of SBM meals & snacks are now concious choices instead of just grabbing whatever for convenience sake.

I usually do my workout early in the day & believe it's better not to do it on a totally empty stomach so I have my 1st cuppa & 2 or 3 dates, let that settle a bit, then get str8 into it.

A large glass of water flavored with lemon or lime juice is within easy reach to sip on between exercises, I've also discovered that a gr8 (& healthy!) after workout recovery is a banana, either simply as is or in a smoothie.

Take a peek at the facts here, bananas have a lot going for them -

Shapin' up

I've been quietly pleased since week 2 with the shape my arms are taking & now can see defining muscle lines developing in my calves & thighs.

All in all this has been an excellent week, bring on next week! I have a wedding on Sat & intend to put 110% into my workouts.

You know how it is, lotta family & old friends you haven't seen in years & of course you want to look the very best you can :-)

Goosed!

At a party last night.. standing there talking to a friend with my back to a group of guys when I overheard someone admiring the 'view'

One of them was obviously feeling brave, he gave my butt the 'tomato test' (squeeze for firmness), some ladies might get offended by that but although it was pretty cheeky, to me it was the ultimate compliment.

Proved that the results are visible to others, Joey's program SBM has me heading in the right direction :-)

Moving right along

Week 5 - Workout done! Gr8 start to a new week, to keep things balanced I'm mixing up the "rest of body" exercises, doing a couple with my SBM workout & a couple with my Cardio & interchanging them as the mood strikes me.
Thighs & butt are responding well to this series of exercises

Sunday 5th Apr 10.25pm

A long road trip was on the agenda today so left early this morn & tried to convince myself that missing a workout for 1 day wasn't a big deal.

The fact that I was slightly on edge all day & felt like something was missing proved that I failed in that.

Arrived home at 8.30pm and the 1st thing I did, well ok.. I turned on the watering system 1st but then dived str8 into my gym gear & got my workout done. Yeahhh! that feels good :-)

Look Good, Feel Good

That old adage has come home to roost in a big way for me recently.

For a lot of women hitting their 40's is a scary time, I didn't feel too much different from turning 20 or 30 but my body sure let me know I was dreaming.

At this stage of life unless you are a very active person and/or conciously taking care of yourself with the right exercises & good nutrition everything tends to head south.

There's absolutely no reason that any woman out there, underweight, overweight, in need of firming/toning couldn't get results from Joey's program.

The simple facts are that he has his finger on the pulse of what works best for women & the way he eases you into the program can't help but encourage you to stay committed.

It blew me away how habit forming it becomes.. bouncing out of bed looking forward to doing my SBM workout & seeing the points rack up, browsing the forum for any new pearls of wisdom, checking the menu for the day & working out compatible subs for the rare item that I don't eat.

I'm a naturally shy person & life has made me wary but I can't speak highly enough about how this whole experience has made me feel & honestly believe that if you do put your faith in your trainer (Joey of course) & follow his guidelines you will not be disappointed with the results.

My Sexy Butt Makeover Journey - 1st 4 weeks

After finally deciding it was time to take my life back I pulled up a bundle of sticks, fired up my trusty 'puter & searched the web for an exercise program.

I really lucked out, finding not only a well designed and specifically targeted program but also a nutrition plan to complement & maximise the results. Check it out for yourself - Click Here!

I'm one of those ppl to whom others say "You look gr8, you don't need to lose any weight/get fit etc".. wrong! Clothes cover a multitude of sins and when summer comes around you wouldn't catch me at the beach or the pool.

At 46 I'm not overweight, so wasn't looking to lose weight but after 10 years of total neglect didn't have any
muscle tone, a droopy butt & what I've heard termed as "skinny fat", the dreaded cellulite on legs.

Being realistic, I didn't expect overnight miracles, but was determined to give it every chance & committed to both the exercises & the menus.

1st Week - The intro to Joey's exercises are gradual & gentle, I was actually looking forward to the next session & was interested in food as more than just fuel for the 1st time in years.
Can see some visible improvement in mirror & feel that my clothes are slightly looser.

2nd Week - Still enjoying the exercises which are building up a little more, the menus are creative but best of all, not leaving me craving for anything.
Definite improvement all round, got some lift back there.

3rd Week - Exercises are making me work a little harder but also making me feel good & that maybe I could do some more!
Overall change in body & attitude *does a lil dance*

4th Week - Breaking a sweat here & loving it! Confidence levels are way high & I don't believe I've ever been this healthy, an amazing difference in such a short period of time.
Shaping up nicely, not to mention "cheekily"

*Keep in mind these results achieved by only 1 rep of each exercise!*
